My name is Johanna.

I am the sole-owner of, and lead photographer at, Vivid Photography LLC. After traveling and photographing the world for 10+ years, I fell in love with Maine and moved here with my family to start this photography business. 

My style focuses on natural-light, environmental photography, which features the relation of my subject/s to their environments. I care about creating a personalized experience that speaks to and about you. This means that every photoshoot will include a free consultation (in-person or video/phone) to get to know you, and I will try to make sure your photographs show who the subject is. This could translate into a graduation photo that includes your son or daughter sharing their favorite hobby with me, or your pet sharing their favorite toy with me.

This also tends to create a more genuine experience, with fewer posed expressions. It underlines my focus in creating a stress-free environment. Most people I have worked with tell me beforehand that they usually feel awkward or are “unphotogenic”, but are quickly put at ease with this style of photography. While I will help guide you to help create the best photographs possible, there will be more fun and less posing and holding forced smiles!
